Lois Greenfield

Lois was born in 1949 and began taking photographs in the late 60's. She taught herself everything she needed to know about photography and wanted to be a photojournalist for National Geographic. She was assigned to cover a dance concert and set out to master the art of capturing the unpredictable movement of dancers on film. This became her passion and she eventually set up a studio and invited dancers to join in her experimentation.

Two books have been published showcasing her work "Breaking Bounds"(1992) and "Airborne"(1998). In 2006, the Southeast Museum of Photography organized "Resonating Fields", a touring retrospective of her classic black and white work of the last 35 years. http://www.loisgreenfield.com/index.html
