Bernice Abbott was born in 1898. In 1918 she became Man Ray’s photographic assistant .1925 was a professional portrait photographer. She is known for her detailed photographs of New York. Bernice founded the photography program at The New School for Social Research. She had four US patents for photographic and other devices. She died in 1991.
