Abelardo Morell was born in 1948, in Havana, Cuba. His education includes Bowdoin College, with a bachelor of Art in 1977, Yale University School of Art with a Master of Fine arts in 1981, and Bowdoin College, honorary Doctor of Fine Arts in 1997.
