Orville Robertson was born in Jamaica in 1957. He is an African American photographer known for doing street work photography for the last 25 years. Some of his work has been exhibited in John Jay College, New York, Amon Carter Museum, Texas and Queens Museum of Art in New York.
Orville is the founder of Fotofile (1993), a photography journal that he currently is the publisher and editor for. In 2002 he was awarded a Fellowship in Photography by the New York foundation for the arts. He also the co- curator to Committed to the Image, Contemporary Black Photographers at the Brooklyn Museum. Orville Robertson currently resides in Queens New York with his wife Patricia.
